23...not married and no kids
Time is such a weird thing.
I've always been perplexed and surprised when I surf through myspace. She married her high school sweetheart....he got married.....she is pregnant and married....so on and on and on.....it just seems so weird!!!!! I mean, most of these people are the same age as me or a little bit younger. And I cannot picture myself where they are.
A couple weeks ago, I noticed that one of my ex-boyfriend's friends (whom I hung out with quite a bit) was engaged (to someone I didn't know.) I was so shocked, as he never had a girlfriend in high school and seemed so turned off by the thought of being "tied down." But then again, the ex got married about a year ago--yeah, shocking-- so he could have seen the bright side of being in a relationship. And then I realize tonight after looking through some pictures that he already got married!!!! **Funny thing, the ex-boyfriend was one of his groomsmen in the picture....let's just say, I'm not missin' out on much! HAH!**
It's been 5 years since I've graduated high school. I am only 23. It just seems like such a young time in one's life to settle down like that! Now granted, I am living with my boyfriend of 4 years, so some may say, well you sure have settled down yourself! True. But I am in no rush to get married. And in no rush to have kids either....probably not for another 4-5 years.
It is just amazing to see how much can happen in 5 years....even a couple years! You wonder, where was I 5 years ago? Did I think that I would be here at this point in my life, doing what I'm doing?

Cheech
So there is this customer that comes into work regularly. Once he walks in the store, all the girls bolt. He's not creepy like that. He's just.........ugh. SLOW.
We all call him Cheech. As in, he obviously has smoked way too many doobies and lost too many brain cells.
I remember when he first walked into the store and had long scraggly hair and a humongous beard. He wore army fatigues and a big straw hat. Very strange. We all thought he was homeless. The next time I saw him, he shaved his head and face.......looking like a much cleaner, yet still scraggly homeless man.
Anyway, that is not the most perplexing thing about him. The way he talks will make you want to curl up in agony. His slow, monotonous rambling voice will go on and on about anything........the way charcoal doesn't erase correctly.....how he really wants to kill his neighbor's cat.....or simply just how he wants to paint trees. But he could make the most exciting thing in the world sound absolutely, horribly boring.
I got stuck helping him for a little bit today..........and he got me cornered into hearing about his art teacher. Well, I am pretty sure that I fell asleep with my eyes open. Yeah. My mind was going in and out of consciousness.....my eyes were watering......I was yawning........ugh......I always thought.....man, I could never fall asleep standing up.
Boy, was I proven wrong today.

Rob & Big
This is a great show. It's actually the only show on MTV that Casey and I love to watch together. They are just so hilarious together!
And last night we watched a classic episode. Rob and Big wanted to get their faces on a cereal box and after realizing that it would never happen, they decided to make one of their own. They dressed up like old grannies and took their happy picture with a cereal bowl!
It was soooooooooo funny! Their outfits and makeup were hilarious and they just looked so happy with that bowl of cereal! Casey and I were laughing hysterically......you should definitely check it out!

One Wild Evening
So tonight Casey and I ventured out and did something wild for us!
WE ATE THAI FOOD!
Yeah, that might not sound like such a big deal to some, but we have never eaten Thai food before. As a girl from the country, I wasn't really sure what to expect. And Casey has heard various things about Thai food, the most prominent being that they use a lot of curry. And he HATES curry.
So, we asked around and ended up eating at Krungthai on Winchester. Apparently it has been voted the best Thai food in san jose for various magazines and surveys. Figured if we're going to at least try it, might as well be the best!
And I must say, it was quite good! Pretty much the same as chinese food for me, with a variation of some spices and flavors. The soup was a little different....not used to drinking a sweet cocunut soup with chicken and mushrooms. But the meat and rice was great and I especially loved the sticky rice with mango dessert. Was quite delicious!
And I was quite impressed with Casey, who actually ordered us 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and a dessert! He went all out and ate everything! And even thought he might go back to try more.
So, for us two hermits....that was quite an evening!
