The ginormous-ness that was my ice cream would not fit in the cupholder of my car.....and I was not going to sit it in the seat near my coach bag....a disaster waiting to happen. So I held it in my trusty little hand the entire way home. (Needless to say, I felt like quite a pig holding it as I pondered how many calories and sugar content were in said ice cream....but I ate the whole thing anyway! HAH!)
So, as I pulled into the driveway at home I thought, hey, you can't talk on the phone while holding it because it is considered a distraction....but I was holding this ice cream the entire way...and was somewhat distracted by making sure that is did not spill on me. Is there a difference!?
Sure enough....found this at drivinglaws.org......
Becoming hands-free means you are talking on your cell phone while driving, yet both of your hand's are still on the steering wheel. Actually, you can have only one hand on the steering wheel, as long as the other hand is not on a cell phone. This is the intent of the new California driving law.
Interestingly, you can still eat the cheeseburger and fries from your favorite fast food restaurant with one hand, while you steer with the other hand without getting a ticket. Same goes for putting on makeup, brushing your teeth, trimming your nose hairs and other single-handed driving habits too disgusting to mention…
Huh! Interesting, and somewhat sad and disappointing.
